Performing Arts
Well Done to the Year Preps-Twos and the other students who filled in for our mini St Angela Olympic Performance at the end of last term.
Students had not rehearsed for weeks due to remote learning, however after a half day rehearsal, the students performed so well in front of our teachers. All the students took part in an Opening and Closing Ceremony and used their hand made props to enhance their performance. Archie Blackwood opened the games with his incredible breakdancing. Home Room Group 1 sang, 'We are One,' whilst Home Room Group 2 performed a slow motion running race to the music piece, 'Chariots of Fire.'
Unfortunately, Years 3-5 were unable to perform their wonderful scenes due to continued restrictions. We are hoping that these students will get a chance to perform early next term, however we will have to wait and see what restrictions are in place.
For the next three terms I will be on Maternity Leave and the fabulous Ms Burrell will take on the Performing Arts role.
I will be back to direct the 2022 biannual St Angela of the Cross School Production which will take place at the end of Term Three. I am hoping to form a School Production Parents Committee to help out with things like collecting costumes, decorating sets etc. If you are interested or maybe have a special skill please feel free to send me an email. I will be planning the production during the next months.
Thank you for a wonderful first Year at St Angela's despite the challenges of lockdowns and remote learning. I look forward to introducing the new baby to the students soon.
Term 4
This term in Performing Arts we will be continuing our exploration of drama. We will be working on a small Christmas performance and nativity play which hopefully we will be able to invite you along to watch restrictions pending. However if not we will aim to film it to ensure our school community gets to see it.
