For today’s newsletter I would like to thank a valued volunteer who has made an extraordinary impact on our school library.
Karen
Karen lives locally and contacted our school soon after opening offering her services as a former school librarian. She has dedicated countless hours to help keep our library space vibrant, welcoming, and well-organised.
From covering and shelving books to helping run our book fair, her dedication ensures that our students not only find the books they need but also enjoy and foster a love of reading.
We are incredibly grateful for Karen’s efforts.
Catholic Identity
Congratulations to Joshua, Alex, Billie, and Oliver who made the Sacrament of Confirmation last Friday night at St Ita’s in Drouin. May this special occasion strengthen your faith and inspire you in all your future endeavours. A big thankyou to Mrs Rachael Williams and Mrs Emily Moschitz for their support in preparing the students.
Next Thursday 8th August is a special time in Catholic schools as we celebrate the Feast Day of Australia’s First Saint, St Mary of the Cross Mackillop. On this day, we celebrate the important role she played in making education accessible for children in our country. Mary MacKillop devoted her life to ensuring a Catholic education for children from rural, poor families. Students will complete activities and learn more about Mary MacKillop in their classrooms.
Footy Day
Next Friday is Footy Day where students can wear their favourites teams colours from any code of football they are interested in. Students will then participate in Footy related activities within their classrooms. I look forward to seeing lots of red, white and blue amongst the school yard, Go Dogs!
Pie Drive forms must be returned by Monday 5th August.
Pies will be available and must be collected from our school canteen on Wednesday 14th August between 2.40pm & 3.30pm.
A message from Liz, Sacrament Coordinator
On behalf of the Sacrament Team, I would like to offer a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to all the students who were fully initiated into our Catholic Communities last Friday night through the Sacrament of Confirmation. It has been a joy to work with you and your families throughout this Sacramental process. We wish you all the very best. Please know that we would love you to join us in any of our Parish Masses and events. May you always remain close to Jesus Christ and live spiritfilled lives. God Bless
